Each sword we made is handmade with care, and capable of test cutting. As you can see in the video, this real katana is strong enough to cut through bamboo yet sharp enough to slice paper
- Why is T10/1095 Steel Good for Katanas? For a great authentic katana, you need one with T10 steel. The T stands for Tungsten. The 10 stands for 1.0% carbon content in the steel. Because of its high-carbon content,T10 can become ridiculously sharp, incredibly hard, extra strength and crazy durable. This is why it works perfectly for samurai sword. These crucial factors make this sword a real weapons and battle ready
- How to Choose a T10 Katana? THE HAMON. To those who appreciate the tempered steel of a Japanese sword, the hamon is visual evidence of our maker’s effort to produce the finest blade work. In sword making, the hamon is the visual effect of clay tempering. Did you see that squiggly uneven line that runs through the body of our real katana blades in our photos? That’s the hamon. The authentic hamon appear cloudy. Real hamons can sometimes be hard to see, but they’re there
- How do We Make this Full Tang Sword? Step 1: Heat, hammer, and fold the metal repeatedly over itself. Step 2: Forge the High-carbon steel and the low-carbon steel together. Step 3: Applie a clay slurry to the blade evenly which called clay tempering techniques. Step 4: Quenche the blade into the water to give the sword its signature curve. Then polish the blade, add a groove( Bo-Hi). Step 5: Fasten the blade to the hilt(Tsuka) by bamboo retaining peg(mekugi)
- The handle(Tsuka) is made of laminated wood. The Tsuka is wrapped in artificial fishskin(samegawa). Most commonly wrapped in a twists and turns (hineri-maki) pattern. The guard(Tsuba), is art work in their own right and made of a variety of alloys. It has carvings of dragon. They have carvings of dragon. Whether you are a sword collector or a martial art practitioner, this sword would be the best choice.you can use this wakizashi for training Iaido or protecting youself

FAQ
What types of products does GuardReady sell?
GuardReady offers equipment and accessories for fencing, kendo, iaido, HEMA, safe sparring, and general swordsmanship training. Our selection includes practice weapons, protective gear, uniforms, replacement components, equipment bags, maintenance supplies, conditioning tools, and club training equipment.
How do I choose the correct size for protective gear or apparel?
Sizing can vary between products and manufacturers. Review the measurements and sizing information shown on the individual product page before ordering. If you are between sizes, compare your measurements carefully and consider how much room you need for additional protective layers.
Is this equipment suitable for beginners?
Many products are suitable for beginners, but suitability depends on the discipline, age, experience level, and intended training activity. Beginners should follow the recommendations of a qualified instructor or club before purchasing weapons or protective equipment.
Can fencing, kendo, iaido, and HEMA equipment be used interchangeably?
Generally, no. Each discipline has different equipment standards, techniques, and protective requirements. Only use a product for the activity stated in its description, and confirm compatibility with your instructor, club, competition organizer, or governing body.
Is your equipment approved for competitions?
Competition requirements vary by discipline, organization, country, and event. A product should not be assumed to be competition-approved unless this is clearly stated in its description. Always confirm current equipment requirements with the relevant event organizer or governing body before purchasing.
Does protective equipment eliminate the risk of injury?
No. Protective equipment may help reduce certain risks, but it cannot prevent every injury. Inspect all equipment before each use, train under appropriate supervision, follow established safety rules, and replace any item that is damaged, worn, altered, or no longer fits correctly.
Are the training swords and weapons sharp?
Products are sold according to the specifications stated on their individual product pages. Some items may be blunt, padded, synthetic, wooden, or designed only for controlled practice. Always read the complete description and never assume that an item is harmless. Handle and store all training weapons responsibly.
How long does shipping take?
Order processing and delivery times vary depending on the product, destination, carrier, and availability. Tracking information is normally provided after shipment. Please review our Shipping & Delivery page for current details and allow additional time during holidays, severe weather, or carrier disruptions.
