This Legal Notice applies to the GuardReady website located at https://guardready.us and to products, information, and services offered through our online store.

GuardReady is operated by Storevia Limited and specializes in sport fencing, kendo, iaido, Historical European Martial Arts, safe sparring, athletic conditioning, and swordsmanship training equipment.

This Legal Notice should be read together with our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Shipping & Delivery Policy, Return & Refund Policy, and Your Privacy Choices page. If this Legal Notice conflicts with a mandatory right provided by applicable law, the applicable law will control.

Sporting and Training Use Notice

GuardReady offers equipment and accessories intended primarily for lawful sporting, training, instructional, competition, collection, maintenance, and controlled practice purposes.

Unless a product description expressly states otherwise, sword-like products offered through GuardReady are intended to be blunt, padded, foam, synthetic, wooden, or otherwise designed for sport or training use. They are not marketed as sharpened weapons, self-defense weapons, or products intended to injure another person.

Terms such as sword, dagger, sabre, rapier, longsword, foil, epee, shinai, bokken, iaito, or training weapon may be used to describe recognized sporting or historical training formats. These product names do not mean that the products may be lawfully carried or used in every location.

Customers must not sharpen, reinforce, modify, or convert training equipment into a dangerous or unlawful weapon.

Local Laws and Customer Responsibility

Laws relating to sword-like trainers, replicas, sporting weapons, protective equipment, importation, transportation, possession, public carrying, resale, and use vary by jurisdiction.

Before placing an order, customers are responsible for confirming that the product may be lawfully purchased, imported, delivered, possessed, transported, and used in their location.

A product’s availability on the GuardReady website does not constitute a representation that the product is legal in every country, state, province, territory, city, school, club, venue, or event.

Customers are also responsible for complying with:

We may refuse, restrict, or cancel an order when we reasonably believe that fulfilling it could violate applicable law, carrier restrictions, payment-provider requirements, safety requirements, sanctions rules, or our store policies.

Age and Supervision Notice

Customers placing orders must have reached the age of legal majority in their jurisdiction and have the legal capacity to enter into a purchase agreement.

Products must not be purchased for or provided to a minor where doing so is prohibited by law. When use by a minor is legally permitted, a parent, legal guardian, qualified instructor, or other responsible adult should provide appropriate authorization and direct supervision.

Products intended for youth training must still be selected according to the user’s age, size, skill level, activity, instructor requirements, and applicable safety standards.

Safety and Injury Risk

Fencing, kendo, iaido, HEMA, sparring, and swordsmanship training involve inherent physical risks. These risks may include impacts, falls, collisions, bruises, strains, cuts, eye injuries, joint injuries, equipment breakage, and other serious injuries.

No mask, jacket, glove, plastron, chest protector, pad, guard, or other protective product can eliminate every possibility of injury.

Customers and users should:

  • Receive appropriate instruction before using unfamiliar equipment.
  • Train in a suitable and controlled environment.
  • Use protective equipment appropriate for the activity and level of contact.
  • Follow the instructions of qualified coaches, instructors, clubs, and event organizers.
  • Maintain safe spacing and awareness of other participants.
  • Follow all manufacturer warnings and care instructions.
  • Stop training immediately if equipment becomes damaged or unsafe.
  • Avoid using equipment while impaired or in a manner exceeding the user’s ability.

GuardReady does not guarantee that using protective equipment will prevent injury.

Inspection and Maintenance

All equipment should be inspected before each use.

Do not use a product if it shows cracks, corrosion, loose fasteners, broken stitching, compromised padding, deformation, splintering, exposed cores, sharp edges, excessive wear, damaged electrical components, or another condition that may make it unsafe.

Wear components, blades, tips, cords, grips, handles, straps, padding, fasteners, and closures may require periodic replacement. Customers are responsible for routine inspection, cleaning, storage, and maintenance according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Do not perform repairs, sharpening, structural changes, electrical modifications, or other alterations unless authorized by the manufacturer and completed by a properly qualified person.

Protective Equipment Notice

Protective equipment is designed to reduce specified risks under particular conditions. Protection may vary according to construction, fit, coverage, material, wear, impact level, maintenance, and correct use.

Customers should review the product description, measurements, sizing guidance, intended discipline, protection level, certification information, and manufacturer instructions before purchasing.

Wearing several protective products together does not guarantee that the combined equipment will fit correctly or provide complete protection. Customers should confirm that masks, overlays, jackets, gorgets, gloves, chest protectors, arm guards, leg protection, and other components can be used together safely.

Competition and Certification Notice

Equipment requirements vary among fencing, kendo, iaido, HEMA, sparring clubs, schools, leagues, tournaments, and governing organizations.

A product is not guaranteed to satisfy the requirements of USA Fencing, the Fédération Internationale d’Escrime, the International Kendo Federation, a HEMA organization, a local club, or a particular tournament unless the product page expressly identifies the relevant standard or certification.

Statements such as “competition,” “tournament,” “professional,” or “training” describe the product’s general intended market or use and do not automatically establish approval by a particular governing body.

Rules and certification requirements may change. Customers must verify current requirements with their instructor, club, event organizer, or governing body before purchasing or using equipment.

GuardReady is not responsible for a product being rejected by a club, school, tournament, or governing organization when the product page did not expressly guarantee approval under that organization’s rules.

Product Information Notice

We make reasonable efforts to provide accurate product descriptions, images, dimensions, materials, sizing information, handedness, included components, compatibility details, colors, and availability information.

Some product information may be supplied by manufacturers, distributors, or other suppliers. Minor variations may result from manufacturing tolerances, production batches, packaging changes, lighting, screen settings, measurement methods, or supplier updates.

Colors and visual details may appear differently on different screens. Product packaging may change without materially changing the product.

A medical professional should be consulted when there are concerns about injury, health, mobility, or participation in strenuous activity.

Pricing and Availability

Prices, promotions, product availability, shipping options, and discounts may change before an order is accepted.

We may correct material errors in product descriptions, prices, discounts, specifications, or availability. If an error affecting an order is discovered before shipment, we may contact the customer and offer the option to confirm the corrected order or cancel it.

We may limit quantities or cancel an unshipped order because of inventory problems, supplier changes, pricing errors, suspected fraud, legal restrictions, safety concerns, or unsupported delivery addresses.

If we cancel a paid order before shipment, we will issue a refund to the original payment method. The time required for the refund to appear may depend on the payment provider or financial institution.

Shipping and Delivery Notice

Processing and delivery periods are estimates unless expressly identified as guaranteed.

Delivery may be affected by supplier handling, carrier disruptions, severe weather, seasonal demand, public holidays, customs processing, incorrect addresses, failed delivery attempts, or events outside our reasonable control.

Carrier tracking may not update immediately or continuously. A tracking status does not alter any non-waivable customer right concerning lost, damaged, misdelivered, or undelivered goods.

If an order cannot be shipped within the promised period, GuardReady will provide any notice, revised estimate, cancellation opportunity, or refund required by applicable law.

Returns, Refunds and Product Problems

Returns, refunds, cancellations, exchanges, damaged items, defective items, incorrect products, and missing-delivery claims are handled according to our Return & Refund Policy and applicable law.

Customers should inspect products promptly after delivery and contact us within the period stated in the Return & Refund Policy.

We may request reasonable supporting information, including:
